Economics PhD · Political Economy · Authoritarian Regimes
I am an Economics PhD student at ANU researching the intersection of political economy and corporate behavior. My work focuses on how political connections shape corporate performance, especially within authoritarian regimes — the mechanisms through which firms navigate political risk, and the implications for economic development.
Differentiating Political Connections in Authoritarian Regimes
The paper explores how different types of political connections affect firm performance in authoritarian contexts, highlighting the heterogeneity in the benefits and costs associated with these relationships.
Political Connections Dataset of Chinese Listed Companies
On-going project to collect and analyse data on political connections among Chinese listed companies — matching listed-firm directors to CCP committees across the 6th–14th NPC and CPPCC sessions. Not public yet; used in the working papers.
PERIPHERAL
OFF-DUTYBeyond research, I maintain a regular photo journal, capturing daily observations in black and white. The current /now page tracks what’s on my desk this week.
